PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Salary to be commensurate with experience

The hiring salary for this position is $70,721.45-$88,401.81/Annually

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the Streets Operations Manager perform a variety of project management duties in planning, programming, design, analysis, funding, implementation and coordination of Public Works Right of Way maintenance and operations projects.

Work is characterized by the oversight and coordination of the City's concrete and roadway rehabilitation programs, including project recommendation, cost estimates and construction plans for public works improvement projects. The incumbent is also required to coordinate communications with the construction team. The incumbent's duties typically include contact with the public, contractors, developers, City personnel and other agencies.

Work is performed under supervision. The manager sets the overall objectives and resources available. Incumbent is responsible for the work, plans and carries out the assignment, resolves most conflicts that arise, and coordinates work of the contractors. Incumbent keeps manager informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far reaching implications. Work is reviewed in terms of feasibility, compatibility with other City work, or effectiveness of results.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, and perform duties involved in the oversight and coordination of the City's pavement maintenance and rehabilitation programs (overlay, pavement and concrete rehabilitation, reconstruction, surface and chip sealing, crack sealing, etc.) including project evaluation, selection, and programming in accordance with established standards.

  • Assist in records maintenance of the City's Pavement Management System (PMS); maintain an accurate, complete, and current record of streets and street maintenance; and interface database with other software as needed.

  • Assist in the selection, contracting, and utilization of consultants for various rehabilitation programs including, but not limited to, overlay, pavement rehabilitation, concrete rehabilitation, reconstruction; and pavement rating.

  • Review and comment on regional pavement condition; summarize information to brief other City staff and elected officials.

  • Prepare information, requests and recommendations concerning resolutions and ordinances; compile and review information and other materials for the public and City Council meetings.


 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience as a project manager or engineer
