Job Description

AECOM Hunt is seeking a Construction Intern to be based in  Austin, Texas or Dallas, Texas.

This position is expected to begin in Fall 2024.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.
• Follows instructions to accomplish tasks assigned by senior staff.
• Meets required schedules while producing quality work.
• Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

Internships available in the following areas: project management, superintendent, VDC, estimating, and scheduling.

Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in a 4-year college or university and seeking either a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree majoring in Construction Management, Building Technology, Civil Engineering or similar major with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating.
• Candidates must have completed one years of study in their program.
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to follow direction and manage specific tasks to completion.
• Ability to learn new technologies and concepts.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Willing to work on a variety of tasks alone or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior construction internship experience.
