We are looking for a Director to lead our Talent Acquisition Team. This position is responsible for managing the recruiting team for Markel Insurance in our US operations. You will lead a team of business focused recruiters, partnering with leaders across the organization in the US to create and execute innovative recruiting strategies and answer the growing demands of our business. This role reports to our Sr. Managing Director MNA People Experience. The ideal candidate should be passionate about an exceptional candidate experience and committed to recruiting high potential talent for Markel.

• Lead a team of full-cycle recruiters to deliver excellent performance, develop and enhance their recruiting expertise, and facilitate their comprehensive professional development
• Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and be recognized as a trusted advisor in all areas of recruitment.
• Collaborate with leaders across the organization to develop and execute talent and diversity strategies.
• Manage a vendor as part of an RPO to ensure quality, SLA’s, cost management and manager experience are as expected
• Partner with business leaders and HR Business Partners to align on workforce planning, set hiring goals and strategy, streamline processes, and provide status reports and metrics, with data driven insights and observations.
• Develop innovative ways to meet the business' constantly expanding and evolving recruiting needs.
• Monitor and flex to achieve optimal recruiter requisition capacity.
• Manage external recruiting partners as needed to ensure agreed upon hiring objectives are met.
• Create and support a global talent acquisition strategy and roadmap in partnership with the Director of Talent Acquisition for International.
• Focus on optimization of systems and processes to create bandwidth and capacity for the team.
• Ensure Markel has a robust reporting and analytics strategy for talent acquisition
• Lead recruiting for executive level roles. Drive recruiting efforts as needed to support the team
• The team will support recruiting for roles in Bermuda and Ireland when requested

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of recruiting experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• 5+ years of experience managing full-cycle recruiters
• Workday Recruiter experience highly preferred
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities with ease;  shifting tasks and priorities when circumstances change
• Effective people management skills, with proven examples
• Experience designing and executing creative, data-informed recruiting and sourcing strategies and programs
• Experience partnering with hiring teams throughout the recruiting process
• Known as a trusted and effective hiring partner
• Excellent verbal, written communication skills with presentation skills experience
• Commitment to the Markel Style
• Ability to promote a data-driven yet pragmatic approach to problem-solving
• Ability to travel up to 30%
