Department Overview

The Cloud Platform Engineering team (CPE) at Motorola Solutions is a group of experts specializing in the management and operations of our cloud-based solutions. We are focused on delivering expertise and best-practices for managing cloud environments. Our team is responsible for handling solutions at scale, ensuring efficiency through common services, industry knowledge, and centralized management. We also foster partnerships with vendors and streamline interactions with their services, focusing on process optimization and cost management.

Job Description

Are you passionate about managing complex projects and ensuring their successful execution? Join Motorola Solutions as we enhance public safety and critical communication applications. We need a skilled Principal Program Manager to direct complex programs, focusing on process optimization and the transition of services to cloud environments.

You will be responsible for leading projects that involve coordinating and managing the deployment of our mission critical products in public cloud environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional leaders to maintain the execution roadmap, handle dependencies, and regularly update management on progress.
 

This senior role is vital due to the complexity of the programs involved. It requires experience in managing large-scale, cross-disciplinary programs, preferably in a SaaS or cloud software environment. Your role will be to work with stakeholders across the company, prioritizing investments and ensuring the alignment of engineering efforts with business objectives. You will also communicate with executives to demonstrate the value and progress of your team's work.

Responsibilities:

• Define outcomes and deliverables for cloud deployment and migration projects.

• Maintain strong relationships with development and product management teams.

• Develop systems and processes for tracking dependencies and deliverables.

• Manage key program milestones, including exit criteria and launch activities.

• Address and resolve conflicts in priorities or schedules, and create innovative solutions.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to incorporate their constraints into program plans.

• Manage relationships with external cloud and software vendors for aligned roadmaps.

• Represent the team's value proposition and progress to executives.

• Track cloud spend and drive optimization targets

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of Program Management experience in a large organization.

• 10+ years of industry experience in software, hardware, or a related field.

• 4+ years of experience in managing programs involving cloud products and services.

• Proven track record in managing cross-functional and cross-organizational relationships.

• Experience in SaaS development and understanding of project management concepts.

• Demonstrated ability in building consensus and trust across various teams.

• Strong communication skills, particularly at the executive level.

• Bachelor's Degree required (Business Management, Project Management or related field).

• PMP or advanced program/project management certification is a plus.
