Conrad Yelvington Distributors, a CRH company, supplies and distributes aggregate materials such as granite, river gravel, limestone, natural sand, and more. This rail served aggregate distribution network covers Florida, Southern Mississippi, South Carolina, and Alabama.
Position Overview
Employee support the CYD railcar and logistics program by gathering, maintaining and interpreting data. Provides insight into fleet performance and economics. Owns the demurrage dispute process. Use analytical tools to identify opportunities for improving asset utilization.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Receive and process bill of ladings, including error management and resolution.
- Facilitate and process daily purchase orders and batch releases.
- Work with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely processing of bills.
- Assist the sales and logistics team with ordering and scheduling of materials.
- File freight claims with rail transportation providers.
- Coordinate with sales, logistics and operations teams to understand inventory capacities at locations.
- Cover key positions in logistics and rail during absences/PTO, including cross training opportunities.
- Engage in the demand planning process through discussions with the team.
- Utilize transportation management software to track deliveries of materials.
- Assist in the month end billing process, processing bills, and data entry (one Saturday a month)
- Maintain master railcar lease documentation
- Manage the railcar demurrage dispute process through stakeholder collaboration and investigative analysis

- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety Manual.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
- Two or more years of logistics and rail experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Software experience:
- Dynamics (Solomon) preferred
- ViewPoint preferred
- ShipCSX/TMS Systems preferred
- Microsoft Office, including extensive experience in excel
Work Requirements
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, criminal background check and driving record review.
- Must be willing to work flexible schedule including: nights, weekends and holidays when necessary.
- Must be legally authorized to work in The United States.
