Job Summary:
The Badger Precollege Educational Coordinator position will provide broad support and oversight to both residential and commuter programs for Badger Precollege within the Division of Continuing Studies. Their main focus will be focused tasks related to the operational and academic planning of residential programs for international and domestic students. Reporting to the Assistant Dean and Director of Badger Precollege, they will also support general team projects and precollege initiatives.
The educational coordinator works closely with the Badger Precollege team to support short-term and long-term program planning, logistics, and evaluation; managing program registration processes and academic course set up; and ensuring compliance with UW-Madison and Youth Protection policies. Over the summer, this position will manage day to day logistics related to the interaction between residential and academic processes. Additionally, they will serve as an on-call resource to seasonal program staff during high school programming. Current DCS precollege programs are in session from mid-June through early August.
Principal duties:
Precollege Educational Program Coordination for international and domestic students:
- Support with student outreach and admission processes in relation to Badger Precollege high school programming
- Organize documentation used for student and program evaluation, program certificates, benchmarks, student assessments
- Develop college preparatory workshop series in conjunction with other Badger Precollege program staff
- Coordinate opening and closing day processes in collaboration with program manager
- Coordinate international student transportation and orientation
- Serve on an overnight on-call rotation with other program staff during residential programming (mid-June through early August)
Student application process support for international and domestic students:
- Serve on the scholarship committee, reviewing student scholarship applications and participating in other scholarship processes
- Support program coordinators with international student application reading
- Track data from student applications and organize electronic student records
- Support program coordinators with student support requests
- Organize student documentation submission processes, including general program and confidential student information
Academic course support for international and domestic students:
- Coordinate learning management system class management and curriculum building tools (Canvas and Google Suite)
- Academic field trip coordination with campus partners, including transportation and other logistics processes
- Collaborate with seasonal instructional staff to prepare classroom materials
- Visit classrooms and manage media collection processes
- Coordinate seasonal academic support staff hiring and onboarding processes in collaboration with program managers.
- Organize summer program supplies and materials
- Engage in compliance training and preparation in order to advise the DCS team on policies and procedures.
- Develop training events and initiatives as needed to ensure all staff is trained per UW compliance policies.
General support of Badger Precollege Initiatives:
- Develop and maintain respectful working relationships as well as promote DCS precollege programs and its programs to build greater access, visibility, and value.
- Work with campus partners such as health services, conference services, and dining to ensure smooth coordination of university services for students.
- Supports the diversity and inclusion efforts of Badger Precollege to ensure we provide a safe environment for students and faculty of culturally diverse backgrounds.
- May support new program initiatives, including support with establishing programs
- Pursue professional development activities to enhance performance and professional skills.
- Evaluate programming and create future action plans in collaboration with the larger Badger Precollege team.

Responsibilities:
Designs, implements, and evaluates programs to engage and develop international students in order to foster an inclusive and diverse community.- 40% Schedules logistics and secures and manages resources for various programs to support international students
- 40% Develops programming and resource materials, within budget guidelines and across various mediums, to provide co-curricular and engagement opportunities to international students
- 5% Advises on student visa issues through individual consultations and workshops across various mediums
- 5% Interprets and communicates student rights, responsibilities, and options related to specific requests and situations
