Job Purpose
The Vice President, Self Pay Ops & Client Engagement provides leadership for Self-Pay activities and client relationships. Maintain the performance excellence established by Med-Metrix for our health system partners. The VP will own, cultivate, and enhance the relationships to ensure each health-system partner’s success and satisfaction with the company, SOW’s and P&L margins.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Ensure that each health-system partner’s self-pay business is managed in accordance with financial objectives. Monitor, evaluate, and report payment activity and payer trends, identifying systems, process, or communications concerns and implement corrective measures.
• Provide leadership and direction for a team of client directors and managers who are responsible for the day-to-day management of patient accounts for designated client health systems, ensuring aging and recovery expectations are met, and project level guidance to onboard new clients to the Self-Pay program. May also provide leadership for operational staff responsible for certain account resolution, administration and reporting.
• Establish and deliver operational processes to provide effective client solutions based on proven best practices in receivables management and information technology.
• Ensure that quality and productivity standards are set, understood, and monitored across the operation.
• Ensure that all functions and individuals responsible for client delivery are performing at the highest standards.

• Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
• Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times
• Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties
Qualifications
• 8+ years of comprehensive experience in management and analysis of hospital receivables. This should include significant experience as a revenue cycle consultant within a large consultancy, with responsibility for simultaneous management of multiple client accounts.
• Minimum of an undergraduate degree in a business-related discipline.
• Record of accomplishment that demonstrates the ability to develop, deliver and maintain client relationships in a consultative capacity.
• Proven expertise in accounts receivable management including billing and follow-up best practices, specifically with healthcare receivables, insurance claims, denial, and appeal processing, including ICD-10, CPT, HCPC codes, and UB and 1500 claims forms a plus.
• Significant experience in leading teams to deliver complex service offerings.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Working Conditions
• Travel to client sites and corporate offices as needed.
• Must possess a smart-phone or electronic device capable of downloading applications, for multifactor authentication and security purposes.
• Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move around the work area; Sit; perform manual tasks; operate tools and other office equipment such as computer, computer peripherals and telephones; extend arms; kneel; talk and hear.
• Mental Demands: The employee must be able to follow directions, collaborate with others, and handle stress.
• Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
