This is an in-office role in Franklin, TN

 

Here’s just some of what you will be doing daily…

  • Lead by example in the artform of visual and narrative storytelling. Continuously motivate the Video Production team at large with inspirational examples and best-practices.
  • Manage the Video Production team as a working contributor and supervisor over the people and projects.
  • Department is responsible for setup of video and audio equipment and lights. Capture video through filming with the edit and final output in mind. Know what shots are needed for the final product to be pieced together by the editor. Organize and maintain all equipment.
  • Oversee the department organization of footage from shoots and shows competency to keep track of project files, source files, and any files associated with the projects.
  • Oversee all projects and provide mentoring to the video production team.
  • Ensure the production details are in place for smooth and organized production for all in-progress projects.
  • Responsible for the quality of the end-product and the results that the team achieves.
  • Communicate with heads of departments throughout K-LOVE where/when appropriate within the defined project process.
  • At times, can act as point of contact for internal clients (Programming, Donor Engagement, Communications, Digital Media, Audience Engagement, Human Resources departments, etc.), sifting through the requests, commissioning Video Producing Team when/where necessary, and helping to shape the scope of work. As necessary, buffer the Video Production Team from the distractions of the initial request intake.
  • Maintain overall video department, including equipment upkeep, budget, and Team Member mentorship and coaching.
  • Implement workflow procedures that optimizes productivity and efficient use of resources & time. For instance, continuously fine tuning the stages of work-- pre-production, production, and post-production.
  • Ensure that the team follows the agreed upon workflow and workflow tools.
  • Create reports and other written documentation for the benefit of communicating clearly, capturing agreements, and logging important decisions.
  • Use analytical tools to analyze metrics. When requested, provide other executive summaries of deliverables achieved.
  • Keep abreast with industry trends (film, TV, digital), best practices, and standards including storytelling techniques and creative process innovations. Keep up to date with digital technologies around media production.

 

We are looking for a very specific skill set and business acumen. If you can say yes to each of these requirements, then we want to meet you!

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Video Production, Design, Media Arts, Communications, or combination of education/training with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 6 - 10 years of professional experience in film and/or TV industry and video production industry, preferred.
  • Minimum 6 plus years of Leadership experience, including supervision of media producers.
  • Deep working knowledge in one or more of the core areas listed below and knowledgeable across all film production related disciplines including:
  • Ability to speak the “lingo” of modern practices of videography and editing.
  • Ability to meticulously refine, re-event the way the story is being conveyed cinematically, taking interest in the physical aspect of creating art.
  • Knowledge of latest techniques with a passion for filming, editing, and a vocation of media production.
  • Experienced videographer, one who is capable and knowledgeable with the equipment currently in use.
  • Proficient in editing using Adobe Premiere Pro (preferred) or similar Non-Linier Editing (NLE) software with experience to match the current workloads. Includes proficiency in color correction and audio mixing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic knowledge with using Photoshop.
  • Must have excellent project management and leadership skills to direct and manage the story, design, layout, and technical aspects.
