WHAT YOU WILL DO

In this vital role, you will shape and execute a forward‑looking learning and performance strategy that enables our people to become industry‑leading in customer engagement.

You will serve as a trusted strategic partner to Regional and Global leaders, guiding the design and delivery of learning programs that strengthen customer engagement capabilities, leadership, and coaching across AMGEN. This includes championing learning innovation and ensuring all development initiatives are aligned with business priorities and measured for impact.

Working with a matrixed team of high‑performing learning professionals, you will collaborate across geographies and functions to cultivate a strong culture of continuous learning.

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Elevate Learning Strategy and Impact

Develop and implement a regional learning and performance strategy aligned with Global Learning & Performance and ELMAC Regional business priorities.

Identify and lead efforts to reimagine learning experiences through digital tools, AI-enhanced solutions, and data-driven insights to measure learning impact (eg Sana Labs, MyGenius, Next Level etc).

Foster a culture of curiosity, empowerment, and continuous development with Learning Professionals across the Region.

  • Drive Strategic Partnership & Collaboration

Partner closely with Commercial and HR leaders to identify capability gaps and translate them into actionable learning solutions.

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing thought leadership on learning trends and performance enablement.

Collaborate with Global Learning & Performance teams and the Director of Learning & Performance (Large Markets) to ensure alignment, scalability and impact in the Region.

  • Inspire High-Performing Learning Teams

Promote collaboration and learning across Global, Regional and Affiliate LP teams, leveraging best practices and shared insights.

Inspire and coach a matrixed team of learning professionals to achieve excellence in execution and innovation.

Build cross-functional partnerships and networks (eg Amgen Brand Management, Corporate Learning, Medical) that enhance Amgen’s learning execution and ecosystem.

  • Lead Talent, Culture, and DI&B (TC & DI&B)

In partnership with the Director of Learning & Performance (Large Markets), act as a regional representative and connector for the ELMAC Region and Global Talent, Culture, and DI&B—ensuring enterprise strategies and priorities are understood, adopted, and embedded across the Region.

Minimum requirements

  • Doctorate degree and 4 years of business experience

OR

  • Master’s degree and 8 years of business experience

 OR

  •  Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of business experience

AND

  • 4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, or programs
