Job Title: Senior Analyst (multiple positions)

Responsibilities:
Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis and develop forward-looking ratings on index-based investment strategies (25%). Edit team member’s investment analyses, commentaries, White Papers, or Landscape reports (15%). Contribute to the monthly newsletter and weekly content pipeline of the US passive strategies research team (10%). Author long-form investment research whitepapers/landscapes and contribute to the manager research organization’s thought leadership (10%). Uphold Morningstar’s rating methodology as a rating committee voter and actively participate in ratings committee discussion (10%). Become a subject matter expert in specific management firms, asset classes or strategies and enhance Morningstar’ brand. Act as go-to resources for team members and provide training on those subjects (10%). Support the passive strategies research team in developing or maintaining core research methodologies (10%). Mentor junior team members (5%). Engage with media and speak at conferences on relevant areas of research (3%). Participate in projects for internal stakeholders from other departments, such as surfacing ideas for database/methodology enhancements and process improvements (2%).
Requirements:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field, or foreign equivalent and 3 years of relevant experience in a Financial Product Specialist, Associate Manager Research Analyst, Manager Research Analyst, or a related position. In addition, this position requires: 3 years of experience analyzing index-based & quantitative investment strategies; 3 years of experience using performance attribution tools for analyzing investment strategies; 3 years of experience with mutual fund data and operations; 3 years of experience with investment related software programs; 3 years of experience with publishing investments analysis, commentaries, White Papers, or other thought leadership reports; 2 years of experience developing or maintaining core research methodologies; 1 year of experience editing investment analyses, commentaries, White Papers, or Landscape reports; 1 year of experience mentoring and training newer Analysts and Associate Analysts; academic or work numerate analytical experience using data to draw conclusions in written form. *Remote work requests will be considered consistent with company's remote work policy.

Compensation Range: 57,013 - 105,800
