The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Function in a Lead Role.
  • Primary focus of technical execution of project deliverables, on time and on budget. 
  • Perform technology evaluation studies, conceptual and preliminary design, and detailed design for projects in the food, beverage, and agribusiness industries.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Participate in writing proposals.

Our Team of over 200 process engineers support water, industrial, next generation agriculture, LNG, hydrogen, fertilizer, and carbon capture businesses among others.  We have transformed our team to align with megatrends associated with water scarcity, limited resources, alternative fuels, and energy sustainability. Key Responsibilities

The NextGen Ag team is based out of Kansas City with professionals located throughout the US and internationally. Hybrid options are available!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Functions as a subject matter expert (SME), familiar with agribusiness equipment including solids (grain, corn, soybean, etc) handling, processing, milling, mixing / blending, extraction, and/or corn ethanol. Food and beverage and industrial equipment experience a plus.
  • Prepares and oversees preparation of complex engineering deliverables including Mass Balance, Equipment Lists, Equipment Datasheets, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Plant 3D and Smart P&ID familiarity a plus.
  • Develops pre-construction strategies, such as sequencing, general regulatory requirements, and a collaboration between other disciplines (eg, electrical, instrumentation & controls, architecture)
  • Performs research and develops recommendations for equipment and material selection. Prepares and oversees preparation of equipment and construction specifications. 
  • Directs other engineers and designers in equipment layout and mechanical pipe routing, understanding interaction of piping with structures and equipment and pipe stress requirements. 
  • Responsible for budget, schedule, and quality adherence for self and project discipline team. 
  • Drives internal and external stakeholder collaboration.
  • Engineering Standards — Continues to learn, remains current and applies independent knowledge and interpretation about departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes. Engaged in continual improvement of these standards.
  • Travel up to 25% to support project and pursuit activities
