The Team:
The Hospitals North Sexual Assault and Forensic Medicine Examination (SAFE) Service provides a 24-hour, 7 days per week response to adults and children with an alleged sexual assault or family/domestic violence incident.
The team consists of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Clinical Nurse Consultants who have completed the required training, with support from suitably trained medical officers in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Paediatrics.
The SAFE team is part of Hospitals North Women's and Children's Services who support ongoing professional development and offer free Clinical Supervision within work time.
The Role:
This fixed term Registered Nurse - SANE Student position supports the clinician to gain clinical experience while they are undertaking an accredited SANE training course.
The Registered Nurse - SANE Student works under the direct supervision of a SANE during this training period.
You will need:
- To be willing to take part in on-call work
- Be willing to undertake an accredited Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner course.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, casual, shift worker position, working as and when required, for a period of approximately twelve (12) months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
- Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439 - $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
