About the role

Description

Regional Neonatal Associates is looking for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric/Family Nurse Practitioner with newborn and resuscitation experience to staff the Level 1 nursery at Tennova North Knoxville Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Full-time, part-time and PRN positions are available. Regional Neonatal Associates is a privately owned group of 8 Neonatologists. We currently employ 20 NPs through our partners at University Physicians Associates (UPA) to cover the University of Tennessee Medical Center (UTMCK) 65 bed level III NICU, the UTMCK newborn nursery and other community Level I Nurseries.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Daily rounds on newborns including admissions and discharges as appropriate
  • Delivery attendance when requested
  • Facilitation of simulation training for NRP
  • Stabilization, management and transport facilitation to adjacent NICUs for newborns requiring a higher level of care
  • Occasional shifts at the University of Tennessee Medical Center Knoxville Level III NICU may be required to maintain competencies
  • Additional job duties may vary based on location

Tennova North: Level I Nursery

  • 700+ deliveries per year and growing
  • Average daily newborn census is 5
  • Located in Powell, a growing suburb in North of Knoxville

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Licensure and Certification to be in good standing with the State Board
  • NRP Certified or agreement to become certified
  • Minimum one year of newborn care experience preferred
  • Resuscitation experience in the delivery room preferred
