Position Summary:
This role is responsible for preventative maintenance and non-routine corrective repair of material handling equipment (including forklift, pallet jackets, material handling equipment, etc.) and facilities/ fixtures. Assists with basic building maintenance, mechanic guidance, and/or special projects as needed.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Conduct corrective repair, sometimes intensive, on material handling equipment (including batteries and chargers)
- Assist with and/or oversee repair and/or replacement of distribution center fixtures and equipment as needed
- Ensure facilities and equipment meet all safety and code requirements through preventative maintenance schedules, management of inspections, and creation of corrective action plans
- Ensure work across team is completed in a safe, clean, and timely manner while keeping business needs in mind.
- Oversees day-to-day departmental activities as appropriate/needed
- Ideate and maintain well defined processes for work orders/repairs and ordering of replacement items
- Manage accurate and timely inventory of facility assets (such as forklifts pallet jacks, and batteries) as well as other parts/equipment/service supplies.
- Utilize maintenance systems such as Square Rigger/other software as appropriate to ensure accurate and timely documentation of work and inventory
- Maintain facility appearance
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Driver’s License (Required)
- High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED) (Required)
- Computer proficiency, including ability to manage projects using computers and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal to communicate and/or document maintenance needs and status of projects
- Must report for work regularly and on time, as scheduled.
- Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s) and works well with others.
- Must work well under pressure, and is able to organize and prioritize work assignments, and meet established deadlines.
- Must perform assigned tasks accurately and completely.
- Must be flexible and able to handle changes in work requirements productively.

- Hilo License (Required)
- 5-10+ years of experience
- Journeyman Card (Strongly Preferred)
- Previous food distribution/manufacturing experience (strongly preferred)
