Overview
Stellar Virtual Schools is seeking an experienced and dynamic Special Education Supervisor for 6th-8th Grade. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the special education instructional program for our middle school students, ensuring the provision of a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) within our virtual setting. The Supervisor will manage a team of special education teachers and support staff, ensuring high-quality virtual instruction, compliance with state and federal regulations, and effective collaboration with general education and families.

Essential Duties

• Program Leadership & Supervision (Virtual Middle School):
• • Supervise, evaluate, and mentor a team of 6th-8th grade special education teachers and support staff (e.g., instructional aides, related service providers where applicable) in the virtual environment.
  • Provide instructional leadership and guidance on best practices for delivering specialized instruction, accommodations, and modifications effectively in online learning platforms for middle school students.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture among virtual special education staff.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance:
• • Ensure all special education processes and documentation for 6th-8th grade students (including IEPs, FIEs, ARDs, 504s) are fully compliant with federal (IDEA), state (Texas Education Code, TAC), and local district policies, with specific attention to virtual school guidelines.
  • Conduct virtual file reviews and periodic observations of online instruction to ensure fidelity of IEP/504 implementation and adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor critical timelines for evaluations, ARD meetings, and service delivery for all students on the middle school caseload.
