About the role

Job Description Summary

The Compressor Module Integration Leader (MIL) is responsible for facilitating module level activities for the NPI, RCAs etc and is the main point of contact between the Compressor Module (CM) and Systems, Product line, DLE, AME, Services, Fleet, CMPD and Repair teams. This role will work with all the relevant collaborating teams of CM to drive synergy and common solutions for similar challenges experienced across programs. For this the MIL will partner closely with module PLs, CTHS & TLs across all teams within the module, synchronize and drive a more efficient execution. The MIL will create and manage program schedules for the CM. In essence, the MIL will be the main focal for the overall global Compressor Module team for assigned frames/ NPI programs & RCA CAPA etc.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Create and manage schedules for NPI programs, RCA CAPA, etc. being executed by the team. Report status & risks in the CM&ACT MOR to drive fulfillment of the relevant metrics while ensuring best quality.
  • Drive synergy within the compressor module owned programs globally and align all internal stakeholders, deliverables etc.
  • Support the emerging fleet through leadership of fleet leader inspections, collection and synthesis of fleet data, and stewardship of configuration information.
  • This role needs to drive efforts within the matrixed Gas Power (with maximum stakeholders within Engineering) organization to enable common solutions to issues seen across multiple programs in the module.   They can use Lean, product management, manufacturing or engineering techniques to drive these solutions. Strong partnership with CM PLs, CTHs & TLs will help enable some of the above.
  • This role will need to drive strong collaboration & interaction with adjacent teams within engineering & interfacing functions to solve issues. They should be able to leverage experts within & outside of engineering to help arrive at a decision/resolution. This includes managing and communicating Compressor Module risks to stakeholders across functions & GTE teams. (Some key stakeholders will be : Aerodynamics, Heat Transfer, DLE, AME,  Sourcing, Suppliers, Materials Engineering, Systems Engineering, Repair, Product Definition and Customer Service Engineering.)
  • The role should have the flexibility of mindset to adopt to changes & pivots coming in on programs and help steer the deliverables for the CM accordingly.
  • Influence the development of strategy for the execution of NPI programs, RCA deliverables etc. with the PLs & TLs. This includes discussion around resources that enable the optimized delivery of the program.
  • Strong oral & written communication: This role will need to communicate difficult concepts to non engineering stakeholders and will have to influence others' opinions on particular topics. At times they may also have to guide others to consider a different point of view. This role should be able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Promote professional growth of team members, through effective coaching and mentoring.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • In the USA - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related engineering / science from an accredited college or university OR a High School Diploma / GED with at least 8 years of professional experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering / Science field
  • Outside USA – Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience to engineering / science or a High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with significant professional experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering / Science field
  • In the USA - 6+ years of experience in gas turbine design
  • Outside USA – Significant experience in gas turbine design

Eligibility Requirements

  • If applying in the USA, you must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
  • This position will work onsite at the GE Vernova Greenville, SC or Bangalore, India site (hybrid considered)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Masters degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering/science field
  • Gas turbine mechanical component design experience an added advantage
  • Effective interpersonal, facilitative, and organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work with cross functional and global teams
  • Customer satisfaction mindset with strong quality orientation
  • Demonstrated Program/Project Management ability through experience and/or certification
  • Strong oral & written communication & influencing skills
