Assists with research projects including computational data analysis and documentation of experimental results.The Kutluay Laboratory located at Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis, MO is hiring highly motivated Bioinformatics Research Assistant. HIV-1 continues to be a major global health problem without a cure or vaccine in sight. Our laboratory studies fundamental aspects of HIV-1 replication, virus-host interactions and innate immune defenses with particular emphasis on the roles of viral and cellular RNA/DNA-binding proteins. To study these processes, we employ cutting-edge next-generation sequencing-based methodologies, tools of conventional molecular biology, biochemistry and molecular virology.

Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Assists research studies with implementation of: existing algorithms and computer software for analyzing data sets derived from NGS-based experiments (including CRISPR, RNA-seq, CLIP-seq and ribosome profiling experiments); ; data management and analysis solutions that assist in storage, investigation and dissemination of large data sets.
Works with research team to develop new algorithms to support studies.
Assists with reporting of methods, data and results.

- Expertise in standard bioinformatics tools.
