A Staff Salesforce Release Engineer is a senior technical professional responsible for managing the end-to-end release processes within the Salesforce platform, ensuring that all changes, updates, and new features are deployed smoothly across different environments. This role oversees planning, scheduling, coordinating, and managing all activities related to Salesforce releases within an organization, ensuring the successful, stable, and controlled transition of new software, updates, and configuration changes on the Salesforce platform
You Will:
- Deploy code and configuration changes to different environments for build teams, break fixes, and enhancements
- Plan and schedule when new features and updates are added, ensuring smooth transitions between different parts of Salesforce
- Manage three to four production releases monthly
- Own and maintain version control repositories and CI/CD pipelines on platforms such as Bitbucket and Azure DevOps
- Coordinate branching and merging strategies with development and QA teams
- Document the entire release process to ensure clear communication and provide a record of changes
- Set up, monitor and improve DevOps processes including CI/CD, test automation, and monitoring
- Create sandboxes and prepare them for project development
- Define and refresh full sandboxes at regular intervals
- Communicate release schedules and changes to stakeholders
You Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field is required or Master’s degree preferred
- Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Advanced Administrator, Platform Developer)
- Experience defining and tracking DevOps KPIs Salesforce
- Proficiency with Agile and Kanban methodologies
- Experience with Copado or similar development tools
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements relevant to your industry
Advantageous:
- Strong understanding of Salesforce metadata objects and relationships
- Experience with Salesforce configurations including custom objects, fields, object relationships, Apex classes, workflow rules, process builder, validation rules, sharing rules, data security, approval processes, page layouts, record types, and data import/export tools
- Expertise in DevOps processes such as committing changes to source control, opening pull requests, reviewing and merging work in source control
- Proficiency with Git and version control systems
- Strong data model understanding and data loading skills
- Knowledge of change management principles to mitigate disruptions during releases
- Experience with automated testing methods
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
