Production Engineer - Freeport, TX (On-Site)

 

The Production Engineer will provide engineering and problem solving skills to ensure the process operates safely and optimally. They will monitor and analyse process performance, analyze limitations and bottlenecks and identify opportunities for process improvements and develop/implement solutions. They will serve as the process technology expert on site in the Etinol, Vinylol and Vinyl Salt areas.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and track plant performance (output, quality, yields, solvent usage, energy).
• Lead operations in troubleshooting and investigation (Root Cause Analysis) of significant unplanned operational events.
• Define optimal operation conditions (KOPs/KPIs). Work closely with operations to monitor plant and adjust for optimum performance.
• Lead Management Of Change in assigned areas as well as monitor and track OEE and capacity to drive productivity.
• Identify improvement opportunities, drive continuous improvement and support Lean Six Sigma projects.
• Lead/support and document risk assessments – HAZOP, PHA, PHR, FMEA, RCA, as necessary.
• Act in compliance with all SHE rules and regulations in place on site and ensures application in local area.
• Ensure all Quality policies are followed and report any quality deviations or non-conformances observed.

You Bring:

• Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Ideally some years of experience providing engineering support in production or project roles.
• Knowledge of production unit operations and manufacturing equipment; knowledge of relevant Manufacturing Excellence work processes; applicable SHE & Manufacturing requirements.
• Knowledge of data analysis techniques, Root Cause Analysis, tools and application.
• Lean Six Sigma training and certification considered a plus.
• cGMP operational knowledge considered a plus.
• Solids and dust handling knowledge considered a plus.
