JOB SUMMARY:
As working member of his crew, responsible for leading and directing all personnel under his supervision.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures that all assigned tasks authorized by supervisor are completed properly in a timely manner required by VT SAA.
- Coordinate and oversee assigned projects.
- Ensures employee has an understanding of assigned task and materials with tools maintained and stored in serviceable condition.
- Research problems and offer solutions to problems within their area.
- Ensures that crew adheres to safe maintenance practices and keeps a clean work area.
- Continuously monitoring work progress of individuals assigned to the Department.
- Distribute work assignments to obtain the highest productivity output while keeping the Supervisor aware of the status.
- Assisting his or her Supervisor in preparation of shift schedules to include any changes.
- Manage all personnel matters and administrative paperwork required to efficiently support the Tooling Staff.
- Ensures all assigned personnel are at work on time and in the correct uniform.
- Ensures all crew members go to and from lunch and breaks on time.
- Evaluating the performance of personnel under his or her supervision coordinating with department Manager to ensure all employees’ performance evaluations are completed on time and the employees are fairly assessed.
- Monitors employees’ indirect hours (i.e. sick time, vacations, etc.) in order to avoid abuse.
- Reporting to his or her supervisor any recommendations for disciplinary action or personnel problems that cannot be resolved satisfactorily within his assigned Staff.
- Ensures all Tooling Administrative Documentation is completed correctly and neatly.
- Satisfactorily manage all Tooling reports with zero errors.
- Coordinates and ensures that proper materials are ordered, received and issued to the subordinate staff for required tooling repairs.
- Assist in on-the-job training and professional development of employees.
- Manage and maintain Tooling employees training (LMS) records.
- Oversee and participate in the accurate issuing and acceptance of Customer Borrowed/Returned tooling.
- Oversee and participate in the movement of materials and tooling between the Central Warehouse and any of the hangars or satellite warehouse locations with a high degree of accuracy.
- Oversee handling of chemicals while ensuring adherence to the requirements of the MSDS and use of applicable personal protective equipment.
- Achieve an advanced level of research skills to locate problematic tooling or to troubleshoot and solve Operational problems.
- Promotes teamwork and good communication with the company and Management Staff.
- Perform any work that may be assigned by his or her Supervisor or Manager.
