Materials Planner (Onsite)

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the preparation of the forecasts, analysis and research along with the related records and reports in support of the material planning function
• Coordinates with domestic and international suppliers’ material flow for the purpose of achieving customer’s requirements
• Utilizing SAP (ERP systems) to manage the suppliers incoming material flow process from order entry, release, ensuring on-time delivery
• Maintain shortage identification and management and identify root cause and corrective actions
• Interface daily with internal and external suppliers to enhance delivery performance
• Maintains item master lead time information based upon process improvements, current constraints and priority information
• Resolve invoicing discrepancies with suppliers
• Analyze material and capacity availability
• Coordinate with production planners and production managers for solutions when materials cannot be delivered as promised
• Responsible for measuring and reporting suppliers on-time delivery, past due dollars etc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
• 2 to 3 years of related experience
• Import/export experience preferred
• Logistics experience required (planning, customer service or inventory control)
• Knowledge of supplier processes and capabilities

• Experience in operations, inventory management and lean manufacturing processes
