In this position, the employee performs three key roles:
Oversight of Quote to Booking (“QTB”) activity. The employee supports internal and external customers in the preparation, review, revision and approval of customer quotations for the Siemens’ DI/AT/US and Service businesses. Further, the employee is responsible for the validation of incoming orders and contracts to ensure that all required documents have been received, that Siemens’ booking and accounting guidelines have been met, and that the values booked within Siemens’ ERP system are accurate and supported with sufficient documentation. Driver of QTB Development and Process Improvement. The employee supports the Zone and the entire Quote to Booking team in all aspects of the quote to booking process. Provides coaching and training, and supports the development of QTB team members. Drives process improvements, including use of IT systems, automation and digitalization. Provides product line, IFRS 15 and MEA accounting expertise. Key Customer Finance (“CFI”) Interface. The employee serves as a key interface within Zone Customer Finance as well as with other NAM functions including Business Line Controlling, the Delivery Team, Credit &Collections, Service Contract Administration, and Commissions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the zone Quote to Booking team, including recruiting, hiring, training and development of Quote to Booking specialists. Provide regular performance feedback.
- Provide proactive guidance to QTB team members to support the timely delivery of accurate quotes, ensuring that the proposals meet Siemens’ business objectives and quality standards, and that the resulting orders satisfy Siemens’ booking guidelines.
- Manage QTB team performance including turnaround times for requests, as well as adherence to the delegation of authority(“DoA”) policy, escalation policy, and finance/accounting/legal requirements.
- Assist zone finance in the support of the zone management team including input related to order and revenue forecasts, backlog and delivery issues, commission topics, customer disputes, as well as expense activities.
- Consult with zone finance, sales, business lines, leasing, legal, and others to develop all required custom quotations and contracts. This includes the generation of appropriate front page text and incorporation of negotiated terms and conditions consistent with Siemens’ finance, legal, and accounting policies.
- Constantly drive process improvement to optimize resource efficiency and productivity. Participate in process improvement, IT initiatives, and other projects as needed. Advance digitalization and automation initiatives.
- Collaborate with the zone finance team to ensure consistency across all zones and to collectively address challenges.
- Collaborate with the zone Lifecycle Head to understand dependencies, realize synergies, ensure smooth handoffs, and improve experience for the end customers.
- Collaborate with Credit and Collections and Leasing to address credit topics.
- Collaborate with Credit and Collections as well as the Delivery team to investigate and resolve delivery or invoicing topics, as needed.
- Collaborate with CFI leadership, zone finance, strategic corporate accounts, business lines, legal and others to develop strategies to meet long-range plans and goals through the design and implementation of new contracting options, new processes and programs, as well as improvements to IT systems. Support the establishment of new business models and new product lines.
- Ensure compliance with all finance, accounting, and quality policies.
Requirements:
This position requires strong written and oral communication skills with proven interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with people, coach and mentor employees, and maintain rapport with internal and external customers is essential.
Demonstrated leadership ability in a cross-functional team environment is required. This includes coaching, mentoring, formal performance management, team development, and change management. Emphasis on ability to act as change agent for the broader organization and lead teams through significant change.
