Sr. Manager - Operations

<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>The Senior Manager, Operations is responsible for managing a group of clients (Pod). This includes visiting the clients on a regular basis and providing support and reporting to clients as needed. This position is also responsible for managing the P&amp;L of the team, as well as designing, executing, maintaining and reporting on standard work processes to ensure that the transportation solution for each account is fully maintained for accuracy and efficiency.</p> <p><strong>What the Candidate Will Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proactively identify and communicate issues, propose and implement solutions for continuous improvement regarding processes, cost, service, and profitability</li> <li>Conflict resolution and problem solving</li> <li>Train and develop team across multiple positions and responsibilities</li> <li>Responsible for training and career development of direct reports (including 1 on 1’s, coaching, sequential performance reviews and mentoring)</li> <li>Develop and distribute customer reports and internal performance management reports</li> <li>Rate Quotes</li> <li>Monitor and hold team accountable for all key job functions</li> <li>Establish and maintain effective relationships with all internal and external customers through professional and timely communications and inquiry responses</li> <li>Leverage knowledge and understanding of Modes, Rates, Weights, Volumes, Pallets, etc. based on Customer's shipping requirements</li> <li>Analyze reporting to make data driven decisions</li> <li>Review, analyze, and own all matters related to P&amp;Ls</li> <li>Deliver cost savings / cost containment to customer and/or Uber Freight</li> <li>Work closely with Strategic Account Management group to maintain and grow Uber Freight’s business with the customer; incorporating ROI delivered to customer over the life of the contract</li> <li>Travel to clients</li> </ul> <p><strong>Basic Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum Secondary Education diploma or equivalent</li> <li>Minimum 7 years of experience in transport/logistics</li> <li>Minimum 5 years of managing the P&amp;L of a department</li> <li>Must be based in Netherlands in Utrecht or surrounding areas and be open to a hybrid work schedule </li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Logistics or Supply Chain Management</li> <li>4 years of people leadership experience</li> <li>Good knowledge of TMS</li> <li>Good experience with Chemical Liquid Bulk Transportation</li> <li>Process improvement and/or Lean Six Sigma certification</li> <li>Intermediate proficiency within Microsoft Office Suite</li> <li>English &amp; German Speaking</li> </ul> <p><strong>About Uber Freight</strong></p> <p>Uber Freight is a logistics platform and partner with a mission to reimagine the way goods move to help communities thrive.
