Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Description

As the Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a part of an interdisciplinary team that creates stellar data- driven cloud-based solutions. You will be responsible for the success of all technical and functional aspects of a project. We process billions of events every day using Spark and variety of AWS Services including Kinesis, Lambdas, Athena, RDS, Appstream, as well as comparable Microsoft Azure services. We are building a new product offering which will require skills across the development stack from UI to backend data storage & processing.   This is an opportunity to work on an exciting fully cloud based solution and shape a new product area.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• 80% of time spent on automating DevOps processes, coding, refactoring, and improving our solution
• Contributing to the technical design and implementation of practical, maintainable project solutions
• Participating in design reviews and recommending improvements
• Providing support in all phases of SDLC
• Providing trainings and mentor other Engineers when required
• Collaborating with other Engineers in planning, prioritizing, and executing tasks within deadlines

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 6+ years of hands-on experience with DevOps solutions. Bonus for Big Data stack of technologies.
• A truly strong background with Linux systems
• Advanced networking and routing in AWS and Azure
• Experience with distributed data processing and management systems
• Experience working with large data sets or data driven applications.
• Experience with deploying and configuring Databricks in AWS and Azure environments.
• Experience deploying and managing database services in AWS and Azure
• Proficiency in Linux/MacOs/Windows environment as development platform
• Proficiency with CI/CD systems, specifically GoCD and/or Jenkins
• Solid understanding of DevOps methodologies. Lead and promote DevOps culture concepts within the engineering team.
• Solid experience in testing methodologies, test-driven design and the creation of effective and reliable test cases
• Solid knowledge of Bash Scripting, as well as tools designed to provision cloud-based infrastructure components such as Ansible and/or Terraform.
• Excellent team communication skills
