Assistant Principal Director, Joint and Multi-Domain Programs Subdivision
The Aerospace CorporationAbout the role
The Aerospace Corporation is the trusted partner to the nation’s space programs, solving the hardest problems and providing unmatched technical expertise. As the operator of a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC), we are broadly engaged across all aspects of space— delivering innovative solutions that span satellite, launch, ground, and cyber systems for defense, civil and commercial customers. When you join our team, you’ll be part of a special collection of problem solvers, thought leaders, and innovators. Join us and take your place in space.
At Aerospace, we are committed to providing an inclusive and diverse workplace for all employees to share in our common passion and aspiration – to carry out a mission much bigger than ourselves.
The Pentagon and Multi-Domain Division provides the technical analyses needed to inform and underpin decisions made by senior leaders within the Department of Defense (DoD). We address a broad range of space-related issues to help shape current and future DoD missions, taking on challenging space-related problems on behalf of our DoD customers in areas such as emerging technologies, operational analysis, architecture, policy and strategy, developmental planning, system of systems engineering, and threat reduction.
As the Assistant Principal Director of the Joint and Multi-Domain Programs Subdivision, you will lead a diverse organization providing technical expertise and analysis-based decision support to senior leaders within the military services, the combatant commands, and multiple DoD agencies. A key responsibility will be to engage with those DoD organizations that are important members of the broader space enterprise, including users of space, that are not part of the United States (U.S.) Space Force (USSF) and the U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM). In addition to developing new customer relationships and new support opportunities, the successful candidate will lead our support to DoD organizations such as:
- Headquarters Air Force, including Air Force Futures (AF/A5/7)
- Air Force, Program Executive Office, Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management (PEO C3BM)
- Department of the Army, including the Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC) and the Army Research Lab (ARL)
- The Department of the Navy, including the Office of the Chief Information Officer and the Office of Naval Research
- Combatant Commands, including United States (U.S.) Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM)
- DoD Agencies, including the Defense Information Services Agency (DISA) and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)
Work Location: This is a hybrid position requiring presence in the Pentagon most days with the possibility of up to 2 days remote each week.
