We Require
Two years of professional experience in program or project management for emergency operations
Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Emergency Management, Communications, or a related field of work
A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
Other Requirements
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
Completion of FEMA IS-100, IS-200, ICS-300, ICS-400, IS-700, IS-800, IS-120.c, IS-230.d, IS-235.c, IS-240.b, IS-241.b, IS-242.b, IS-244.a, and IS-2200 or the ability to complete within one year of hire date
Experience utilizing National Incident Management System (NIMS), Incident Command System (ICS), Comprehensive Preparedness Guide (CPG) 101, and Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP)
Works a rotational schedule as an on-call duty officer on a recurring basis after hours and on weekends
We Also Value
Master's degree in Emergency Management or Homeland Security from an accredited college or university
Experience working in local, state, tribal, or federal emergency management
Experience working in an Emergency Operations Center during a disaster or emergency
FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) and Advanced Professional Series (APS) Certificates of Completion
Completion of or progress towards the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) Certified Emergency Manager or Associate Emergency Manager
