Sr. Manager (Clinical)  Employee Health Services

Position Summary: Under the direction and supervision of the Employee Health Services (EHS) Director of Clinical Operations and the Lilly Employee Health Medical Director, the EHS East Coast Clinical Manager will have a 70/30 administrative to clinical responsibilities ratio. The main responsibilities will include supporting day-to-day clinical staff planning and implementation, clinical contractor onboarding and oversight, and providing clinical coverage for unexpected absences and staff paid time off (PTO) as needed. This role will be stationed in North Carolina and will require routine travel to various sites.

Administrative Key Objectives (~70%):

• Collaborate with the EHS Director of Clinical Operations to ensure day-to-day staffing coverage of the onsite EHS clinics on the east coast, including the Research Triangle Park, Branchburg, and Concord sites.
• Work with external staffing suppliers on day-to-day clinic staffing as needed.
• Ensure the budget and business plan are maintained in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Operations and site leadership.
• Lead all aspects of and manage clinical contingent workers’ onboarding and training in partnership with relevant collaborators.
• Stays up to date and adheres to Lilly’s contingent worker policies and EHS’s internal critical issue protocols for contingent workers.
• Act as the Lilly sponsor for clinical contingent workers at east coast EHS clinics.
• Partner with other senior clinical managers and staffing suppliers to ensure the external worker management system is updated and accurate regarding assignment start dates, end dates, and worker entitlements.
• Stay up to date and adhere to policies and procedures for onboarding and working with Lilly employees and contingent workers.
• Supervise Lilly employees’ health surveillance documentation from remote sites in partnership with our occupational health services supplier for remote employees, and appropriately delegate tasks to proficient team members or direct reports.
• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for supply and equipment ordering for the east coast EHS clinics.
• Support EHS medical equipment calibration and other routine maintenance checks, ensuring each site adheres to accurate schedules. Appropriately delegate these tasks to proficient team members or direct reports.
• Coordinates and completes staff technical competency checkoffs according to corporate schedule.  
• Follows up on staff and/or patient incidents and complaints and ensures accurate documentation of these incidents.
• Assist with planning and implementation of new EHS sites on the east coast.
• Work with site leaders at satellite sites on the east coast that do not have local EHS clinics, coordinating health surveillance and other wellbeing activities for these locations.
• Travel to Lilly satellite sites to assist with site clinical needs as needed (e.g. health surveillance)
• Assist with additional administrative projects and responsibilities as delegated by the Director of Clinical Operations.
• Ensure consistent practices are maintained across the various EHS clinics as outlined in the Global EHS protocols.

Clinical Key Objectives (~30%):

• Cover onsite clinical schedules when there are staffing gaps due to unexpected or planned staff absences to maintain staff minimum per site.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of Lilly’s policies and procedures and stay informed of changes in the healthcare system.
• Protect the well-being of the company’s employees through the provision of health surveillance examinations, wellness screenings, and episodic care.
• Use Best Practices to assess medical conditions and injuries on site and initiate nursing interventions.
• Provide follow-up care for all injuries and/or illnesses.
• Support and assist with annual preventive screenings and health surveillance examinations.
• Educate employees on health behaviors, self-care skills, and other treatment options appropriate to their individual needs.
