Job Description

The Water Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Water/Wastewater Conveyance Practice Leader, with a focus on water/wastewater infrastructure design, with in-depth design engineering experience in municipal public right-of-way conveyance and pumping systems, for immediate employment in our Orange County or Los Angeles County offices.b

This technical leadership role within AECOM offers an exciting opportunity to focus on a mix of client business growth, technical leadership in municipal conveyance design, project delivery leadership, and mentoring of developing engineering staff by leveraging top-notch regional and national water/wastewater engineering expertise and capabilities to expand AECOM’s Raleigh area business.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be a seller/doer and have the opportunity to manage and work with an established team of professional engineers on a variety of water, wastewater, and stormwater design projects including collection and distribution pipelines, pumping stations, water/wastewater treatment facilities, and storage systems. The applicant will be able to provide engineering leadership on a mix of municipal, state, and federal projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Collaborate with regional and national AECOM experts in the Water Business Line and across business lines to bring cutting-edge solutions and teams to our clients and to seek new municipal business opportunities with existing clients.

• Work with senior technical staff and marketing staff to deliver winning proposals.

• Serve as Client Services Manager for select clients.

• Conduct planning and staff meetings.

• Oversee the successful delivery of technical work.

• Serve as Seller/Doer, Project Manager, and technical lead for the planning, design, permitting and construction of water/wastewater conveyance and pumping projects, including new construction, rehabilitation/renewal, and public right-of-way utility relocation.

• Oversee project elements including reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, construction plans and specifications, permitting packages, and construction phase engineering services.
