Snyk is on a mission to make the world a more secure place by empowering developers to develop fast and stay secure.</p><h3><strong>Our opportunity</strong></h3> <p>We’re looking for a creative, caring, and proactive <strong>Senior Software Engineer</strong> to join our core product teams to help our enterprise customers develop fast and stay secure.</p> <p>The role is within a team in the Foundation group in the Platform Engineering division, which aims to build a scalable, extensible platform used by both our Snyk product offering teams and our Enterprise customers to solve complex challenges, namely:</p> <ul> <li>onboarding large developer teams onto our multi-tenant SaaS offering</li> <li>analyzing and reporting on all the data generated within the customer’s enterprise</li> <li>applying policies that ease security compliance as an integral part of the software development lifecycle process</li> <li>Growing generic platform capabilities both internally and externally</li> </ul> <p>As a member of the Platform Division, you'll work with teams to develop a scalable, adaptable platform that solves complex challenges for both our Snyk product offerings and Enterprise customers.</p> <p>Here at Snyk, you’ll use your knowledge and experience as a developer, along with your problem-solving skills, to help us develop software that, in turn, helps others develop software that is secure and remains secure.</p> <h3><strong>About The Team</strong></h3> <p>This role is for the Extensibility Team, who are responsible for delivering infrastructure, tools, and standards to enable customers and partners to build on top of the Snyk Platform. The domain ownership includes API Strategy and tooling, Snyk Apps, and Webhooks. The focus of this team is to refresh our API strategy and enable teams to deliver delightful APIs for ourselves and our customers through standards, consistency, and reliability.</p> <h3><strong>You’ll spend your time:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Partnering with other engineers in the organisation to deliver solutions that encourage platform-thinking</li> <li>Working in a full CI/CD environment at a sustainable pace within our modified Shape Up (Snyk Up!) process broken into cycles and sprints</li> <li>Fostering engineering best practices within your team by defining and teaching them</li> <li>Mentoring and coaching other engineers in the team &amp; group</li> <li>Taking part in our on-call rotation to maintain and support our production services (for a week every ~10 weeks)</li> </ul> <h3><strong>What You’ll Need:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, or willingness to learn new languages</li> <li>Dedication to effective testing, code quality, and helpful code reviews</li> <li>Proactive attitude, collaboration, and a strong sense of responsibility</li> <li>Experience in cross-functional delivery teams</li> <li>Enthusiasm for learning, sharing knowledge, and pair programming</li> <li>Passion for mentoring and supporting other Engineers' growth</li> </ul> <h3><strong>We’d be Lucky if You:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Have experience scaling fast-growing SaaS applications</li> <li>Have a background working with global teams</li> <li>Have expertise in large-scale distributed systems</li> <li>Have experience building great REST APIs</li> <li>Have experience with authentication and authorization standards, such as OAuth2</li> </ul> <p>#-IA01</p><p><em>We care deeply about the warm, inclusive environment we’ve created and we value diversity – we welcome applications from those typically underrepresented in tech.
