Role
The Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for supporting food safety and quality assurance systems through the management of supplier and customer documentation; internal and third-party audits; along with leading investigations and customer complaints. This role is responsible for ensuring the overall quality and compliance of products and processes within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Supplier performance by sampling raw materials, verifying information on preprinted packaging materials, approving COAs, and reviewing annual vendor documentation
- Support the FSQA team(s) and other appropriate departments to issue, monitor, and track supplier complaints and corrective actions
- Support the FSQA team(s) with the hold and release of inventory at applicable production facilities
- Support the FSQA team during customer complaint investigations by sampling finished goods or raw materials; reviewing documentation; and reporting findings to the appropriate departments
- Support the Retention Sample Program by accurately logging and rotating products, performing organoleptic shelf-life analysis, and logging results in the appropriate data collection
- Conduct co-manufacturer and raw material product evaluations, collecting and analyzing data to track results

- Support the development and continuous improvement of GPF’s Food Safety Programs
Education, Training, and Work Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, or related field preferred
- PCQI and/or SQF Practitioner certification preferred
- 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing or processing; working in egg or protein products a plus
- Strong understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA)
- Experience with product traceability and inventory control systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems
- Prior food safety or quality assurance experience preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Working in production facility environment with the ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel for up to 10 hours a day
- Ability to spend most of the day with desk and computer work
- Exposure to variation in temperatures
- Working with uncooked, cooked, or frozen products
- Extensive working with products that may be listed as a top allergen
- Travelling between all facilities within Sioux Falls as needed
Wage dependent on experience. $23+
