Senior Engineer, Embedded Software

Lindsay Corporation is searching for an Experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the Electronics IoT Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely completion of assigned projects related to embedded software development of IoT devices to monitor and control Irrigation, Transportation and Oil & Gas systems.  The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will be accountable for product support, product enhancements and new product design. If you have a desire to learn and apply your embedded programming knowledge you will be successful in this role. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of all projects assigned and complete in a timely manner
• Responsible for embedded software requirements and validation plan generation
• Must be able to follow established coding standards for embedded designs
• Must demonstrate good documentation skills to facilitate validation and verification of designs
• Responsible for product updates and enhancements
• Communicate effectively with team and provide timely updates on assigned projects
• Knowledge of and experience with:
  • Constrained electronic designs (memory and throughput)
  • Digital interfaces and protocols including SPI, I2C, and UART
  • Compilers and RTOS
  • Test equipment such as oscilloscope, DVM, power supply, and JTAG debuggers
  • Cellular modem technology is a plus
  • Python, MQTT, and Google Protocol buffer knowledge is a bonus
• Board level and system testing
• Product validation plan development and execution
• Mentoring and leading junior team members in proper embedded software development and processes
• Technical project leadership as required
• Other duties as assigned for product design completion

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded applications
• Experience with Git for version control
• BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science
• 10-15+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Ability to understand a schematic for board level bring up
• Experience with M2M cellular and satellite communications
• Microprocessor board bring up experience
• Strong communication skills
• Good organizational skills and ability to problem solve independently
• Mentoring and leadership skills
