Mandate & Core Accountabilities
As an Associate in the Strategy and Business Transformation team within the Office of the COO, the successful candidate will support the team providing financial management activities in alignment with Capital Markets/enterprise goals and governance standards. Assist the Strategy & Business team in developing and communicating short-, medium- and long-term financial objectives. Provide support to monitor performance against financial plans, forecasts, initiatives and objectives, escalating issues as required.
- Conduct financial and performance management reviews & analysis through the development of various models.
- Assist with developing presentations to Senior Leadership
- Coordinates and/or produces regular monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
- Employ systems (e.g., customized exception reports, tracking reports etc.) to manage information.
- Integrates information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.
- Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
- Monitors and tracks performance of initiatives / projects, including raising issues and working to resolve them.
- Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Business Analytics:
- Pro-actively assist the team in analyzing data and other information to help provide insights and recommendations.
- Supports the team as needed, in the development and execution of business strategy.
- Collaborates with team members to design, develop and implement programs & solutions.
Initiatives Delivery:
- Supports the delivery of various initiatives, including collaboration with multiple stakeholders (internal/external)
- Conduct analysis required to inform strategic business development recommendations.
- Collaborates with team members to align key performance indicators with forecasts/plans and initiatives.
- Partners with team members to recommend and/or implement solutions based on the analysis of issues and implications for the business.
- Identify emerging trends, issues, and key enablers and potential issues. May participate in partnership / networking with industry contacts to gather and identify competitive insights and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Typically, 5+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience; completion of an MBA is desirable.
- Good understanding of Capital Markets products, client types, regulatory considerations is considered a strong asset.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Demonstrated collaboration & strong commitment to teamwork.
- In depth analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proven data driven decision making skills.
- Ability to influence others.
- Advanced user in MS Excel (model building) as well as MS PowerPoint (drafting presentations for Executive audiences)
- Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced work environment with ambiguity and complexity.
Base Salary Range for this role is $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 CAD
Salary:
$54,500.00 - $101,500.00Pay Type:

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
