The Junior Postdoctoral Researcher works under broad supervision, performing tasks independently to deliver against goals. They choose appropriate methods of work and plan and prioritise tasks. They are a subject matter expert and provide advice as the first point of contact for their expert area. They also resolve routine matters related to responsibilities and collaborate with others to resolve complex matters.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• conduct research experiments independently

• learn new skills and technologies

• contribute your knowledge and skills to the development of research projects

• take on training and informal supervising/mentoring roles for students and research assistants

• publish research papers and assist grant application preparations

• present findings in meetings and conferences

• record and maintain a good records of experimental results

• have good time management skills and capability of prioritising tasks

• maintain and ensure the laboratory WH&S.

About you

• a passion in science and understand expectations of the postdoctoral position

• excellent writing and presentation skills

• capable of conducting experiments and publishing results

• essential to have one or more of the following research skills:

  • Microfluidic device fabrication

  • Mammalian cell cultures

  • Retina cell biology

  • Brain cell biology

  • Nano and micro particles

  • Tissue engineering

  • Biomedical Engineering

  • Biomaterial development

  • Material characterisation and development

• great teamwork and independent research skills

• excellent task prioritising and time management skills

• effective communication skills.
