Are you passionate about making a difference in early childhood, social, and health services? Community-Minded Enterprises is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team in a dual role. As an Assistant Center Manager and Family Support Services Advocate (FSS) in the ECEAP program, you will:

  • Split your time: 20 hours/week managing CME ECEAP classrooms and 20 hours/week providing family support services.
  • Collaborate: Work directly with the ECEAP Program Manager to ensure program success and compliance with DCYF contracts and policies.
  • Engage: Recruit families, support their journey toward self-sufficiency, and actively involve them in program events.
  • Support: Assist teaching staff and manage classroom operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Management: 20 hours/week managing CME ECEAP classrooms.
  • Family Support: 20 hours/week providing support services, recruiting families, and engaging them in program events.
  • Daily Operations: Assist the ECEAP Program Manager with scheduling, staff supervision, program implementation, and compliance with DCYF contracts and policies.
  • Learning Environment: Maintain a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate classroom.
  • Family Support Specialist: Recruit and enroll ECEAP students at the Peaceful Valley location.
  • Case Management: Manage a caseload of up to 16 families, coaching them toward self-sufficiency.
  • Home Visits & Conferences: Conduct home visits and family support conferences three times a year.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough and current child and family files using the ELMS system.
  • Family Engagement: Plan and conduct monthly family events, engage families in program activities, and provide learning opportunities.
  • Community Partnerships: Link families to community resources and services.
  • Health Screenings: Conduct health screenings and follow up on health and safety needs.
  • Curriculum & Standards: Ensure classroom use of Teaching Strategies GOLD, Early Achievers standards, and Creative Curriculum.
  • Supervision: Supervise ECEAP classroom staff, volunteers, and teams.
  • Food Handling: Oversee safe and appropriate food handling and service.
  • Professional Development: Attend workshops and trainings, providing leadership in the Program Manager’s absence.
  • Professionalism: Model best practices at all times.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • 18 years or older.
  • Knowledge of child development through references, education, experience, or on-the-job performance.
  • Written proof of education (ECE State Certificate or equivalent, associate or higher degree with relevant credits, or DCYF-approved credential).
  • Listed in the state training and registry system (STARS).
  • Experience in program management and supervision.
  • Training in child abuse prevention and reporting.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Current pediatric CPR/first aid certificate and bloodborne certification.
  • Current Washington State Department of Health Food Worker Card.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.

Clearances:

  • Negative Mantoux tuberculosis (TB) skin test in the past 12 months.
  • MERIT Portable Background Check and ability to pass annual background checks.

Language Abilities

  • Speak clearly and persuasively.
  • Listen and get clarification.
  • Respond well to questions.
  • Demonstrate group presentation skills.
  • Participate in meetings.
