Role and Responsibilities
The Semiconductor Government Affairs Intern supports the implementation of strategies designed to enhance Samsung’s broader policy portfolio. This position will work to advance federal policies related to the semiconductor industry, which may include some or all of the following: incentives, trade and export control matters, supply chain policies, R&D, workforce and immigration.
The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual with excellent communication and writing skills, a strong knowledge of or willingness to learn about semiconductor and display technologies, and a demonstrated ability to work independently, think broadly, and develop strategic approaches to problem solving. This position will report to thVice President and Head of Semiconductor Policy and will be based in the U.S. Public Affairs office in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with our policy, government affairs, communications, and business teams on a variety of projects
Monitor and summarize legislative and regulatory activities, and help determine impact to Samsung
Support teams in reviewing materials for executive and legislative branches, and other government regulatory agencies
Partner with internal teams to represent Samsung on outreach events, public affairs opportunities, and other engagement opportunities
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Undergrad (Rising Senior) - Political Science, International Studies, Communications, Law, History, Economics.
Graduate Archer Fellow
Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Previous internship experience in government or private sector
Demonstrated interest in U.S. public policy, technology, global affairs, as well as developing and implementing U.S. legislation, regulations, and other policies
Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience creating and effectively delivering factual, relevant, and easily understandable talking points and other messaging
Ability to maintain the highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity
Strong problem-solving skills, strong organizational skills, and cooperative, flexible, team-oriented attitude
Must be able to work throughout the summer: 6/3/2024-8/9/2024
Required Reporting Location: 700 Pennsylvania Ave, Suite 600, Washington D.C. (Office days required Monday through Thursday)
