Supply Chain Planner Intern   Indianapolis (onsite - day shift)

Peerless Pump Company, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos, is seeking a Supply Chain Planner Intern for its Summer 2024 Intern Program.  

 

The Engineering Intern will report to the Materials Manager, taking functional direction from the Supply Chain Analyst, and will operate daily out of the Indianapolis, IN facility Monday-Friday.

 

Summer Interns at Peerless Pump are given opportunities to participate in department projects with the goal to help expand their technical education and aid in completion of projects.  At the end of the term, Interns will prepare a project status report to present to senior management within the company to explain impact of their project and receive direct feedback on performance.

 

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

What is the job about?

 

The Supply Chain Intern will work with the Supply Chain Analyst to update material master for purchased/produced materials and assist with the addition of Selma patterns to PMATS.

 

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

 

• Material Master Planned delivery – Review source cycle from business warehouse and collaborate with buyers and planners to make sure planned delivery for purchased and in-house production time is accurate.
• Info Record Source List – Create source list for preferred suppliers when placing purchase requisitions.
• Material Master Automatic Conversion– Identify materials and implement automatic po conversion.
• Data gathering for analysis –Pull data using all sources to help the Supply Chain Analyst assess information for master data improvement.
• Selma Pattern integration to PMATS- Work with Pattern manager, IT, and key Selma team to get patterns updated in PMATS for Selma patterns

 

Posting, Reporting, and Work Relations

 

This position will work closely, and collaborate with Materials Management department, including Supply Chain Analyst, Planners/ Buyers- intern will be updating data to help support Planners/Buyers.        

 

Required Minimum Qualifications

 

• Working towards a B.S. in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Purchasing, Sourcing, (or related) from an accredited university *incoming 3rd or 4th year preferred
• Must be detailed oriented and possess excellent follow up skills
• Person must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
