Northrop Grumman  Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) is seeking a Manager Systems Engineering 3 for the Rushmore D-Site team located in Aurora, Colorado. This role entails leadership of a cross-disciplinary engineering team both technically and as their functional manager within a customer furnished facility performing operations and maintenance of a complex system. This leadership role is relied upon to solve complex technical issues, drive execution, develop talent, build strong teams and perform functional management duties. This person must be able to thrive in a dynamic team environment, working with multiple subcontractors in a customer facing role demonstrating strong collaboration skills.

Assignments will utilize leadership skills across both technical and functional aspects of the team performing Operations and Maintenance of a complex system with high mission criticality. Technical leadership will include identifying potential innovations, performing trade studies on optional solutions, driving execution and implementation of chosen innovation to improve system performance, efficiency, automation etc. At times, off nominal work hours may be required based on mission requirements.  Functional responsibilities will require leadership of multiple section functional managers and their respective direct reports ensuring people management tasks are completed, team members career and development goals are addressed and hiring of new staff as directed by the program is accomplished.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

·       Managing members of the Rushmore D-Site team

·       Driving execution and completion of prioritized projects enabling new capabilities/innovations

·       Effective collaboration across IPTs to innovate and improve CONOPs and introduce efficiencies

Flexible Schedules:  This role offers the ability to work a 9/80 work schedule, which allows an employee to work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday and take every other Friday off of work.

Basic Qualifications:

·       Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution and 8+ years of experience in Systems Engineering (6+ with a MS, 4+ with a PhD)

·       Active  Top Secret SCI SSBI with an adjudicated CI poly

·       Prior experience as a manager or team lead

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Strong communication, collaboration, leadership and team building skills

·       Experience working with a cross-disciplinary, multi-contractor team

·       Experience in complex systems in an operational environment

·       Ability to interface effectively with senior management, peers, and employees.

·       Excellent interpersonal skills

Salary Range: $187,000.00 - $280,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees
