Responsibilities
Human Resources - US Locations
- Direct the HR strategic efforts for US locations ensuring alignment with the Americas and global strategy.
- Provide direction for Talent Acquisition, onboarding, employee relocations, workers’ compensation programs, attendance monitoring, Affirmative Action, paid time off programs, and general employee classification.
- Align and implement key projects such as Talent Management, HR Systems and process and Total Rewards leveraging Centers of Excellence to deliver best practices to the Company.
Employee Relations
- Oversee the employee disputes resolution process and disciplinary process, and handle other special situations, coordinating with the Director Human Resources Americas, in-house legal counsel, and other departments.
Policy and Program Recommendations and Employee Handbook Management
- Continuously improve employment policies and programs that support the company’s business goals and practices or as changes in employment law dictate.
- Ensure that policies and programs are interpreted and enforced in a consistent basis and recognize that some flexibility may be required when circumstances warrant.
- Develop materials to communicate changes to the affected employees.
- Ensure the Company Employee handbook is updated to reflect any changes in policy.
Key Statistics Development and Monitoring
- Monitor turnover and absenteeism for Company’s US locations.
- Actively implement programs to improve overall trends for retention and leverage successes of individual operations or of individual supervisory personnel.
- Make recommendations on changes in policy, programs and supervision based on the information gathered.
Manufacturing Compensation Management System
- Oversee the General Wage Increase (GWI) and work closely with HRD Americas and CHRO to prepare for the Compensation and Benefits review for US locations.
Compliance Monitoring
- Maintain familiarity with local, state, and federal employment law.
- Ensure company’s employment policies and practices are following those laws and coordinating with in-house legal counsel.
- Prepare and submit legally required government reporting.
Minimum Requirements
- 8-15 years’ related experience
- Bachelor’s degree (HR, Business or similar with a HR specialization)
- Occasional travel (0-5%)
- Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)
- Job requires employee to drive a personal vehicle to conduct company business < 20% per week (8 hours) and/or travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday.
Preferred Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of Personnel Administration functions including those responsibilities outlined above.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
