A Brief Overview
The Business Development Executive promotes and builds strong internal and external relationships with Physicians, Case Managers, and all individuals involved in the patient referral process. Responsible for building and maintaining partnerships that enhance the post-acute care admissions to Methodist Alliance Home Care, Home Medical Equipment, and Hospice. Collaborates with others to develop and execute market strategies to targeted audiences, improve service offerings, and implement initiatives that support improved patient care and growth in division sales. Focus of activities in physician relations, community awareness, and resource development. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Promotes and builds strong relationships with referring Physicians, Case Managers, and all individuals involved in the patient referral for Methodist Alliance Home Care, Home Medical Equipment and Hospice.
- Plans strategic movement of services based on health care and market trends.
- Assesses programmatic strengths and weaknesses and leads the planning process for increasing patient referrals to hospice and other companies within Alliance Health Services.
- Implements initiatives to promote physician/hospital/Alliance collaborations, and strengthen new business alliances. Plans, organizes, and coordinates physician and community activities for Hospice and Alliance Health Services. Participates in community affairs, legislative processes, and fund raising efforts for hospice residence.
- Acts as a resource to physicians and hospital staff on matters pertaining to Alliance Health Services, activities and products.
- Serves as the patient advocate by making a connection with patients and families, listening to understand their needs and honoring commitments. Visits/calls new patients referred daily. Provides information to the patient to familaize them with Methodist Home Care and Hospice such as explaining the Patient Information Guide. Shares important information regarding each patient with the Administrator and/or the staff when appropriate. Documents on a timely basis providing sufficient facts to assist in tracking and trending of customer service issues and patient rights risk points.
- Organizes and facilitates unit based and organization wide committees and teams to develop, and execute improvement initiatives to reduce patient complaints and grievances and improve patient experience survey scores.
- Monitors and analyzes complaint/grievance data as well as patient experience survey data, evaluating for trends and common themes, identifies gaps in performance using analytic skills and judgement, recommends improvements in keeping with strategic alignment and goals of the organization.
- Accountable for key performance indicators in the alliance in-take process.
- Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree Business Administration
- Bachelor's Degree Marketing
Work Experience Requirements
- 5-7 years Home care/hospice
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of basic principles of business management and hospital operations.
- Skill and proficiency in communications and interpersonal relations.
- Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials, including activity reports.
