Senior Fitter EDH PCR Base Offshore

Powell is a manufacturer of switchgear and other electrical equipment. We are currently hiring a Senior Fitter at our Southeast Houston manufacturing facility.

As a Senior Structural Fitter, you will be required to perform the following tasks: Job Requirements * Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Essential Responsibilities

• Must be able to fabricate up to 1" steel plate, flat bar and I-Beams.
• Must be able to operate Forklift, Jig Lift and Man Lifts. 
• Must be able to tack weld to fit all steel.
• Complete knowledge and ability to cut steel with torch, bandsaw, porta band, drill holes, grind, track torch, and transit. 
• Must take safety orientation and pass quiz.
• Must attend weekly Safety Meetings

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience as Structural Fitter.
• Must pass written test using designated drawing with a score of 80 or above.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Ability to work independently or part of a small team and perform required tasks with little supervision.
• Must pass drug screen.

Working & Environmental Conditions

Ability to lift metal objects of up to 30 pounds frequently for a minimum of 8 hours per day. * Must be able to work 60 to 70 hours per week.
