Overview

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Revenue Accountant to join our team in Denver, Colorado. This position will report to the Director of Accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of billing practices, contract review, accounting principles and procedures, as the position will leverage revenue and billing expertise while work closely with other Finance and cross functional team members to ensure that the Company’s billing is complete and accurate.

This position will be responsible for timely and accurate general ledger consolidations, internal financial reporting, preparation and review of US GAAP financial statements, implementation of new accounting standards and the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures. 

This role will pay a salary of $90,000 to $100,000.

Responsibilities

  • Review contracts, bill customers and record revenue in accordance with company policy and US GAAP for various revenue streams and new offerings as applicable.
  • Work closely with management to ensure amounts are compliant with revenue recognition rules and contract terms.
  • Support the monthly close process by preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis. This includes but is not limited to, revenue, deferred revenue, contra, and unbilled accounts.
  • Understand the fundamentals of revenue analysis and preparation of metrics to enhance performance insights.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new accounting systems, processes and system automation related to new product offerings to ensure scalable revenue processes.
  • Document processes for the various revenue streams and support an innovative environment that can scale as the business grows.
  • Work with cross-functional partners on an ongoing basis to support business processes as well as special projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and provide support for audits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant field required.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles including ASC 606 exposure.
  • Focus on quality with the ability to follow detailed procedures, create documentation of processes and maintain compliance with controls.
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred, strong analytical skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and solve complex problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to clearly explain concepts and issues.
  • Ability to excel in a fast growing/fast paced environment delivering accuracy while managing deadlines where adaptability is imperative.
