Senior Cloud Consultant - AppDev - Remote, Italy

About the job

The Red Hat Italy Consulting team is looking for an AppDev Senior Cloud Consultant to join us in Italy. In this role, you will specialize in Red Hat's container and application technologies, architectures, and solutions in public, private, and hybrid cloud environments, integrating the same with third party tools necessary for cloud-native application development and deployment. You'll work with our customers to understand their current and desired state of container and cloud-native application adoption. Ultimate success in the role is to help customers reach their desired state through the use of the Red Hat technology and services portfolio, in particular Red Hat OpenShift. You'll need to have deep technical expertise, passion for open source, a thorough understanding of business processes, and the ability to identify and create business value at the enterprise level. In addition, you'll need to have a solid working knowledge of agile project methodologies and DevOps models and technologies.

What you will do

• Help customers evolve from thinking about Red Hat OpenShift as mere infrastructure to Red Hat OpenShift as technology which can increase business value; articulate potential business changes, backed by Red Hat technology, that can promote tangible business value
• Use your knowledge of public, private, and hybrid cloud environments, e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, etc., to guide the customer on the most appropriate hosting environment for OpenShift based on their strategic goals
• Become a virtual Red Hat member of the customer's team, enabling and mentoring customers in the development and deployment of applications on Red Hat OpenShift
• Apply analysis and define modernisation strategies from Red Hat's middleware portfolio, e.g., FUSE, 3Scale, Kafka (AMQ Streams and Broker), Quay, etc.
• Support the Italy regions with presales activities like discovery sessions, requests for information (RFIs), and requests for proposal (RFPs)
• Document solutions from a technical perspective

What you will bring

• Ability to have conversations at multiple levels of a customer's organizations, including decision makers, DevOps, architects, developers, and infrastructure to extract and define system requirements, use cases, and priorities
• Knowledge of application runtimes, enterprise container architectures and solutions, Red Hat OpenShift or competitive solutions, and deploying and running container solutions in private, public, and hybrid clouds
• Very good understanding of DevOps maturity models
• Experience with agile frameworks and principles with deep knowledge of agile methods and practices
• Experience in coding with Java development technologies and framework (Spring Boot and or Quarkus)
• Experience in designing microservices applications and delivering to production using continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) methods
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, in Italian and English, with a record of developing relationships at technical, management, and executive levels
