Service Manager Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily Service Department operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and top-tier customer care.
  • Lead, mentor, and support service advisors, technicians, and support staff to meet performance goals.
  • Resolve escalated customer service issues with professionalism and a customer-first approach.
  • Track and analyze KPIs to implement strategies for improved productivity and quality.
  • Maintain strict compliance with manufacturer guidelines, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with Parts and Sales Departments to ensure seamless workflow and customer experience.
  • Manage hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training for Service Department personnel.
  • Drive customer loyalty through proactive communication and exceptional service delivery.

 

Service Manager Compensation and Benefits

Pay range: $180,000.00 - $200,000.00 annually!

Qualifications

Service Manager Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Service Manager or similar leadership role within a Ford, GM, or comparable dealership service department.
  • Strong knowledge of Ford and GM vehicle service operations, manufacturer guidelines, and dealership standards.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a focus on resolving escalated issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in tracking and analyzing KPIs to drive operational improvements.
  • Experience with hiring, training, and performance management of service personnel.
  • Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) and service scheduling software is a plus.

Corporate requirements: Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver's license and clean driving record, able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
