Job Summary

This position is responsible for front desk reception and administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to the issuance of Redbird Cards.

The Redbird Card Office is located in the Bone Student Center and open Monday-Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm in the Fall & Spring semesters (reduced hours for Summer are Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm).

The ideal candidate MUST be available to work during the summer, specifically during on-campus orientation, as well as move-in times at the start of each semester, plus a set schedule during the school year. We are looking to fill a specific shift for Fall (Monday & Wednesday 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM).

The Redbird Card Office creates all Illinois State University student, faculty/staff, extra-help, and other miscellaneous ID cards. The Redbird Card Office receives deposits for the Redbird Account, monitors the card system, and is responsible for the accounting of the Redbird Account.

Pay Rate

$15.00/hour

Required Qualifications

All student employees in the Redbird Card Office must maintain good academic (min. 2.0 cumulative GPA) and disciplinary standing from the point of application through term of employment. The employer will check status each semester of employment.

- Previous cash handling experience
- Able to multitask and be flexible
- Answer phone calls and transfer or give messages to appropriate staff members
- Good organizational and communication skills

Work Hours

8-12 hours per week.

Regular semester hours - Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm (closed weekends and holidays).

Summer hours - Monday-Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm (closed weekends and holidays).

Move-in extended hours can vary but the Card Office is open both Saturday and Sunday of move-in week plus Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm.
