(Senior) Operations Manager

WHAT WE DOAt Shef, we are building a homemade food marketplace. We believe in providing the shefs in our community (refugees, immigrants, stay-at-home parents, retirees and out-of-work restaurant chefs) the opportunity to make a meaningful income by doing what they love! We also believe that every person should have access to a wholesome, home-cooked meal at an affordable price. Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day management of the Bay Area. SF is our top market, with a lot of daily operations that come along with it. You’re responsible for the market running effectively and with minimal error
• First and foremost: Operations and logistics management, including: vendor management (important), inventory management, hub logistics, trust and safety   
• Supply management: managing relationships and market health with our shefs 
• Project Management: Design, implement and analyze initiatives aimed at growth, efficiency, and marketplace dynamics. 
• Process Building: Build and roll out processes designed to support market management.
• Data analysis: Manipulate data in Excel to manage the P&L and draw insights. Ideally, pull data using SQL into spreadsheets and pull out insights that will guide the business forward. 

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in any of the following fields: engineering, statistics, operations, economics, or similar
• 3+ years of experience in Operations / Consulting / Data Analytics / Strategy
• Track record of being an operational problem solver!
• Strong sense of empathy and ability to communicate with others, including external vendors
• Keen sense of ownership, where no task is too small or out of your purview
• Capacity to take initiative in an evolving work environment while maintaining flexibility and a collaborative attitude while getting things done!
• Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
• Initiative as a response to these changes.
• Data-driven decision-making mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking.
• Eager to find innovative solutions to the complex problems we're solving at Shef. You balance empathy, logic, and commercial reasoning to make decisions that benefit our shef community and overall operation
• Passionate about sharing authentic food and our mission to empower home cooks to bring their amazing food to hungry customers!
