JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for leading the company’s data function, overseeing data engineering, business intelligence, and analytics. This role is responsible for developing and implementing scalable data solutions, managing data migrations, and supporting financial and operational reporting. The position also ensures the effective use of data across the organization to drive business performance and strategic decision-making.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

• Manage the overall data strategy to meet evolving analytics needs.

• Lead enterprise-wide data migration from legacy systems to modern (cloud or hybrid) platforms.

• Own and evolve the company’s BI strategy, including tool selection, implementation, and optimization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Domo).

• Provide vision and strategic leadership to scale the analytics function.

• Collaborate with executives and cross-functional teams to guide decisions using data.

• Partner with Finance, Risk, Product, and Operations to deliver complex financial and operational insights.

• Maintain a deep understanding of the business to identify actionable insights.

• Ensure end-to-end data quality, lineage, and integrity across systems and reports.

• Support regulatory, compliance, and audit-related reporting with accurate, timely data.

• Serve as the internal subject matter expert on fintech data structures (e.g., loans, repayments, originations, credit risk, servicing).

• Lead, recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing analytics team.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, scalability, quality, and speed.

• Partner with subject matter experts, architects, and engineers on data initiatives.

• Understand data flow, context, and organizational impact.

• Identify and drive new initiatives that deliver business value.

• Respond to ad hoc data requests and analyses.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Math, Finance, Statistics, Analytics, Research, or related discipline from an accredited university, preferred.

• 10+ years experience in Data Analysis or equivalent work experience.

• 10+ years demonstrated expertise in BI tools (Domo, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, etc.)

• 10+ years of relevant financial services industry experience preferably with major financial institutions – leading analytics/risk teams

• Experience visualizing, interpreting, and presenting data for stakeholders 

• Strong experience with SQL, Python, and ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Fivetran, Talend, Apache Airflow).

• Strong understanding of financial datasets including lending, credit risk, revenue recognition, and GL reconciliation.

• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory data needs (e.g., SOX, SOC2, Fair Lending).

• Experience working with cloud-based data stacks (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Strategic and structured thinker with ability to assess and act upon complex issues  

• SME in financial services and operations

• Proven ability to teach, coach, and mentor analysts and non-analysts

• Highly motivated, intellectually curious, and results-oriented team player
