Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Lead HVAC Mechanic and Shift Manager, the incumbent adjusts, repairs, troubleshoots and maintains heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Essential Job Functions:
- Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.
- Adjusts, repairs, troubleshoots and maintains heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Performs all preventive maintenance on systems and maintains applicable log books.
- Conducts walk-through inspections; changes belts, filters, adjusts volume dampers, checks gauges, coils, drain lines, bleeds gas lines, resets compressors, check unit sensors, relocates ductwork and troubleshoots to locate sources and cause of malfunction.
- Assists with estimating parts, supplies, equipment and labor hours needed to complete assigned repairs and monitors computer for malfunctions.
- Maintains quality of air, air flow and temperature at on and off-site facilities; adjusts valves to regulate temperature of lubrication oil and flow of water through system.
- Records gauge readings, repairs completed and time lost due to inoperative equipment.
- Maintains technical logs and records all relevant data as appropriate.
- Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma or technical certificate required as well as a minimum of three (3) years’ experience with commercial industrial equipment or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience required. Must also have a Florida state EPA HVAC License and possess basic mechanical aptitude. Must be able to read, understand and interpret schematics, plans, diagrams and drawings.
Work Environment:
- Must be able to work in high/precarious places, be near fiberglass insulation and electrical current.
- May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
