Position Summary:

 

As the factory Manufacturing Excellence Specialist you support the implementation of the site operations improvement strategy. In this role, you will  as part of the site leadership team and will act as the center of expertise for Focused Improvement and Industrial Performance. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Co-develop and gain alignment from the site leadership/key stakeholders on improvement strategy and execution plan. 
  • Support communication across the different Business Units.
  • Partner with leadership to define the execution plans to deliver the expected results that include: 
    •   Factory key enablers (Digital, CAPEX,..etc)
    •   Key improvement projects
    •   Key competency building activities
    •   External support requirements
  • Support the execution of the improvement plan by:
    •   Ensures proper governance / routines at leadership levels to track execution progression and improvement sustainability
    •   Spend time on shop floor to evaluate maturity progression and identify key opportunities.
    •   Provide guidance and feedback to leadership and align on corrective actions to adjust execution plans.
  • Develop Critical Competence within Key Members of Local Leadership Team
    •   Support Leadership development by identifying opportunities to transform workplace, people, and behaviors to deliver results through GEMBA visits.
    •   Partner with HR / Training & Learning Pillar rep to establish and evaluate robustness of function/pillar capability plan .
    •   Train and coach associates and leadership team on needed system competences based on development needs and escalate for external support as needed
  • Accountable for Focused Improvmeent pillar and Industrial Performance related activities within the Leadership Team
  • Leads Leadership Teams in building long term plans.
  • Evaluates maturity of key systems and provides feedabck to functional / pillar leads.
  • Member of Focused Improvement Pillar, which inlcudes development competence building and health of FI systems and routines (Problem solving, Project & Stakeholder Management, Loss Intelligence, etc.) 
  • Responsible for development, competence building, and health of Industrial Performance systems & routines, including: Labor utilization studies, data reliability, SAP BOM/Master Data, Planning Rate Reviews, Asset Intensity systems.

 

Experience & Education Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree or significant Operations Continuous Improvement experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience working in a fast moving production environment
  • 1-3 years working with Factory Management & Leadership team, with success in supporting & developing cross functional teams.
  • 1-3 years with an active role on the implementation of Goal Alignment/TPM/Lean.
  • Proven experience with change management, process improvement and business connections.
  • Experience working with Line labor standards, Budget preparation/review, and line capability/speed studies
  • Proven experience working & developing improvement projects, loss analysis, & strong experience in leading /applying problem solving tools.
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (TPM, GA, FI, LVS)
  • Strong problem solving capabilities 
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Competence on Continuous Improvement Guide  
  • Proven Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of key data systems (SAP, NSAM
