The Associate Director, Real Estate will play an integral role to develop and drive corporate Real Estate strategies and manage the operations for our Real Estate portfolio. This role will also have responsibility for our Procurement function with the facilities team partnering with that team on purchases and overall financial planning activities. This role will be responsible to lead and manage a team and become a trusted business partner to deliver outstanding customer service, foster collaborative relationships and provide significant value to Markel. In addition, this role will play an important role to help Markel reduce total expenses, manage vendor performance, mitigate organizational risks and adopt methods that support continuous improvement. This role will have high visibility to executive level management and will need to be able to clearly communicate objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Actively develop skills / competencies of the team to support the business long term vison and performance management objectives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to maximize business potential and identify improvement opportunities
- Responsible for Financial Planning of Real Estate portfolio to include impact of Facilities projects
- Consult with business leaders in identifying stakeholder needs to deliver strategies, increase performance, reduce costs and reduce risk.
- Continuously monitors external market conditions and understands their potential impacts on portfolio best practices, supplier pricing and/or service levels
- Develop, align and implement KPIs in support of managing strategic supplier relationships in line with organizational requirements and processes to achieve exceptional levels of quality and service while maintaining competitive pricing structure
- Ensure alignment with appropriate financial controls and budget
- Maintain excellent and timely communications with business customers to determine requirements, objectives and strategies
- Manages complex strategic sourcing efforts / contract negotiations
- Manage the contract life cycle for complex services suppliers to include but not be limited to: evaluation, selection, and governance to ensure service delivery & quality, relevance, and commercial value
- Partner with Facilities team and external partners on various projects.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 5 - 7 years of management or leadership experience
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills. Experience communicating to an executive level audience
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Attention to detail and quality
