PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform general and preventive maintenance work including mechanical, 1 & 3 phase electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and fabrication.
- While the primary work area is Utilities, will provide maintenance support to other areas of the factory as needed.
- Assist in maintaining and documenting assigned P&IDs, electrical control drawings, process descriptions & equipment tagging.
- Working knowledge to provide preventative and corrective maintenance support for the factory utilities, including heating, plumbing, ventilating and air conditioning equipment, high pressure boilers, air compressors, wastewater, and process ammonia chillers.
- Sample and test water and use corrective measures to correct out of spec samples.
- Knowledge of PLC’s computer interfaces, and other related electrical control devices preferred.
- Knowledge of the Maintenance Management System, spare parts documentation, and work order completion preferred.
- Assist in maintaining P&ID’s, electrical control drawings, process descriptions, equipment tagging, and documentation as assigned.
- Effectively communicate daily issues through documentation in MMS, area logbooks, electric pass down and verbal communication with peers.
- Knowledge of electrical control drawings, process descriptions & equipment tagging.
While performing all duties, employee is expected to:
- Follow the plant safety rules, report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately.
- Follow factory safety & environmental objectives & targets.
- Maintain compliance with regulations to the Safety & Environmental System(s).
- Understand the environmental aspects of the position and take action to reduce these environmental impacts.

- Maintain compliance with regulations on all related procedures and programs.
- Understand the food safety and quality aspects of the position.
- Understand and apply the principles of continuous improvement in the work area.
- Maintain a clean and 5S compliant.

- Maintain a valid driver’s license and forklift certification.
- Communication with Team Advisor and co-workers.
- Acquire and maintain certification for ammonia refrigeration.
- Acquire and maintain boiler training.
- Safe and efficient operation of road vehicles and fork truck
Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to trouble-shoot equipment.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
- Self-directed/ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work independently and in groups.
- Effective reading, writing, communication, and computer skills.
Requirements:
- High School degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 1-year, verifiable work experience. Utilities experience a plus.
- Equipment specific training will be provided.
- Degree or Diploma from a Technical College preferred.
- Be flexible and work overtime as needed.
- Shift: 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule mostly from 4:50pm-5:00am
